Scheme at a Glance:

West Bengal Govt was announced Swasthya Sathi in year 2016 vide Cabinet No. 2625 dated 17th February 2016 and Finance Department notification No. 1104-F (P) dated 25th February, 2016. However this scheme was officially launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal on December 30, 2016.

Objectives:

The objectives behind launching Swasthya Sathi Smart Card with Cashless Health Scheme is to help residents of Paschim Bangla (WB) to issue cashless treatment with free of cost.     

Salient Features of the Scheme:

ü The entire premium will be borne by the Govt of West Bengal there no contribution to be taken from the beneficiary.

ü Health coverage for minor and superior care up to Rs. 5 lakh per annum per family irrespective of Upper, Lower & Middle Class.

ü All type of diseases are covered under this scheme whether it pre or post existing.

ü Entire family members including parents, spouse and dependent physically challenged persons are covered under this scheme.

ü Online Swathya Sathi Smart card is being provided to each and every family on the very fast day of Enrolment. Smart Card captures the details of the insured person , Photo, biometric, address, Contact Number etc which will be provided later on.

ü Any once can access this scheme through online IT platform from day one.

ü Instant SMS alerts to the beneficiaries on blocking of card

ü Real-time updating of E-health record of the beneficiaries on their discharge from the hospital / health centre.

ü Settlement of Claims to the hospital with TAT of 30 days beyond to this interest as applicable will be charged for delayed payment.

ü This Scheme is Paperless, Cashless, Smart Card based.

Who can apply to this Scheme:

1.    All family members those are residents of West Bengal irrespective of Caste & Class.

2.    Members of SHG, ASHA & ICDS. This will also cover self help group members

3.    Casual and Contractual employees of Govt of West Bengal

4.    Civil volunteers

5.    Volunteers work under Disaster Management, Home Guard and Civil Defence

6.    Doctors working under Homeopathic, Ayush and Unani & RBSK will also cover under this scheme

7.    Panchayet

8.    All ex-RSBY Card Holders

9.    Govt employees who have not covered under Mediclaim are also eligible to avail this benefit

10. Those who have not enrolled under any other health scheme will be eligible to enrol under this Swasthya Sathi scheme.

How to apply Swasthya Sathi Scheme:

1.    Go to nearest health centre/Camp/Hospital to apply for the scheme, gradually applications for this scheme will take place in offline mode as of now.

2.    After receiving the enrolment FORM-B (Application for enrolment under Swasthya Sathi) fill all the blanks carefully and attached photocopy of all supporting documents as prescribed in the scheme and submit to nearest centre/Camp/Hospital. Please carry ORIGINALS for verification.

3.    On receiving filled up application form the agent will help people to fill registration form online and submit the same. Upon submission of enrolment form system will generate an ID & Password of the applicant.

4.    The Smart Card under Swasthya Sathi Scheme will be generated via official portal. The applicant can acquire digital SMART CARD later on logging into to the online portal.
